Invisalign

As a general dental office, we commonly see the benefits of straight teeth, not just as it relates to a nice even smile but also how well aligned teeth can aid in the ease of keeping teeth clean to avoid gum disease.  That is why we offer straight teeth through short term orthodontics for adults and older teens.  This includes:  aligners  as well as traditional braces, both of which usually  take less than a year.  Our approach to the straightness of your teeth is like that of all of our treatment types, completely driven by your specific goals.   An initial tooth straightening consultation involves impressions or digital imaging, a few initial photos, and us making sure that we are clear what you would like your smile to be for the rest of your life.  Following this initial informational visit is a follow-up visit to give you treatment options including pro’s and con’s of treatment options with investment and time frames so that you can customize your treatment type.

Invisalign is one of the most common types of clear aligners that we use (like Clear Correct):  These go over your teeth like a thin mouthguard or retainer, they can be removed at any time, yet many times only for eating and cleaning.   When you get your first aligner it may be tight until the teeth go completely into position, when the aligner will fit more like a thin mouthguard or retainer:   The process of wearing each aligner generally takes about 2 weeks.  A series of these aligners are worn to tip, rotate, and line up your teeth into proper position for ease of chewing, eliminating hard to reach hiding places for bacteria, and to create your ideal smile.
