Sealants

Dental sealants are a way to preventively fill in susceptible deep grooves in teeth where the toothbrush bristle can’t reach, but the bacteria can. They can be appropriate for both children and adults and do not require anesthetic or drilling. They take a much shorter time than a restoration to place and our office stands behind them for three years. If you have had a sealant placed, when it is evaluated at your routine 6-month check-up, if it has dislodged, we will replace it for free for three years from the time it was originally placed. The existence of deep grooves is not only the reason for sealant placement but also why we expect sealants to stay in for a long time.
